High School Program Description

This two-year HIGH SCHOOL program will provide a solid foundation for the mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer systems incorporated into modern truck technology. Servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel-powered units and related components are major elements of this training experience. Students will disassemble, assemble, and operate conventional and electronic controlled heavy-duty diesel powered engines, heavy-duty automatic and manual transmissions, hydraulic and air operated brakes, suspension and steering units, air condition components and other related systems in light, medium, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Interpersonal skills. Diesel mechanics must work closely with co-workers and customers.
Organizational skills. Diesel mechanics must have excellent organizational skills. They should have the correct tools in place to perform the requires technical tasks.
