Materials Handling is a program designed to train students for entry-level employment in the field of Warehousing, Distribution and Transportation. Materials Handling students are training for positions as forklift drivers, order pickers, inventory control specialists, stock replenishment, quality control inspectors and building maintenance.
Materials Handling curriculum includes:
Forklift operation and certification
Order Picking
Stock replenishment
Inventory/Cycle counting
Pallet stacking
Stretch wrapping pallets
Use of pallet jack, hand trucks and ladders
Quality control
Knowledge of warehouse documents (Bill of Lading, packing slips)
Shipment tracking
Banding product for shipment
Units of measure
